eUniversa is based on the implementation of major design elements (MDEs) as defined in the Oasis Legal XML Electronic Court Specification
(ECF 4.0 Specification). ECF 4.0 uses the National Information Exchange Model, commonly referred to as NIEM, a national standard for
information sharing. Implementing ECF 4.0 compliancy is vital for the future capabilities of a Court.

With ECF 4.0, eUniversa is capable of heightened integration capabilities, allowing us to interface with varying Case Management, Document Management, and other Electronic Filing Service Providers while enhancing communications between the Filer and the Clerk.

Filing Assembly MDE

Enables a Filer to create an eFiling message for submission to Court, for service on other parties in the case, and returning a response
from the Court to the Filer.

Filing Review MDE
Enables a Court to receive and review an eFiling message and prepare the contents for record in the Case Management and Document Management systems, sending a response concerning the eFiling. Filing Review MDE also enables a Filer to obtain a court-specific
policies regarding eFiling and to check on the status of eFilings.

Court Record MDE
Enables a Court to record electronic documents and docket entries in its Case Management and Document Management systems and
returns the results to the Filing Review MDE. The Court Record MDE also enables Filers to obtain service information for all parties in a
case, to obtain information about cases maintained in the Courts docket, register actions and calendars, and to access documents
maintained in the Courts electronic records.

VistaSG has implemented Court Record MDE operations for third party Case Management systems and can provide required
translation layer implementation.

Legal Service MDE
Enables a party to receive service electronically from other parties in the case. Service to other parties is performed using the Filing
Assembly MDE.
