ECF 4.0 architecture consists of four Major Design Elements (MDE's); Service, Filing Assembly, Filing Review, and Court Records which define the requirements for ECF4.0 compliancy.

  • Service
    • Enables a party to receive service electronically from other parties.
  • Filing Assembly
    • Enables a filer to submit and receive a response.
    • Able to support service from other parties.
  • Filing Review
    • Enables a court to receive and review a filing
    • Prepares filing for Case Management and Document Management Systems.
    • Able to communicate with filer.
  • Court Record
    • Enables electronic recording and docket entries in CMS and DMS.
    • Able to communicate with filer.
